Meet Our Team

Dr. Shon Johnson

Dr. Shon Johnson received his BS of psychology from Wayne State University and his DDS degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. He has additional training in dental implants, Invisalign (clear aligner braces) and Botox/Dermal Fillers (esthetics).

His main interests include dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, basic/restorative dentistry and oral surgery.

Dr. Johnson enjoys dentistry because he has the greatest desire to improve the overall health and well-being for patients that he serves. Sometimes this involves very little dental treatment, while other times, this can involve many steps and appointments together. Establishing the best plan of action as a team, and helping others execute that plan, is what he is most interested in.

Dr. Johnson comes from a family that has a deep love for music and sports. He loves going to concerts and live musical performances. He even makes his own music (“Shon jay” on streaming services). He has a sarcastic wit and is also a lifelong Detroit Lions Fan! He also volunteers as a football coach for his former high school, Birmingham Groves High School.

Dr. Kyle Burkardt

Dr. Kyle Burkardt attended University of Detroit Mercy for his undergraduate degree and dental school. He was accepted into University of Detroit Mercy’s accelerated seven-year dental program and graduated in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology and a DDS. Dr. Burkardt was a recipient of the Health Professionals Scholarship Program with the United States Army. After graduating, Dr. Burkardt was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army. He continued his education at Fort Benning (now Fort Moore), Georgia. He completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Martin Army Community Hospital. After completing his residency, Dr. Burkardt was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for the next four years providing dental care to soldiers completing their basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood.

After completing his active-duty service, Dr. Burkardt is excited to return to his home in southeast Michigan. The Army provided him with the great opportunity to expand his skills in restorative, periodontics, oral surgery, wisdom teeth extractions and endodontics and he has continued his education with courses in clear aligners and implants.

Selfless service has always been a priority for Dr. Burkardt whether it was his time in the United States Army, one of his several dental service trips with the Chistian Dental Association to Honduras or volunteering to provide dental treatment locally at Trinity Community Care in Shelby Township to the underinsured.

Dr. Kyle Burkardt is originally from Monroe, MI. He has seven brothers and sisters, most of whom live in southeast Michigan. He enjoys weightlifting, reading history and philosophy, playing board games with friends, and spending time with family.
